DJScientific AV250 Hand Held Analytical Viscometer
For sale- a DJScientific AV250 Hand Held Analytical Viscometer.
It comes with the sensor, padded case, and battery charger as pictured.
The viscometer is in excellent physical condition, it powers up and appears to be functional.
Initially it only seemed to hold a charge for about 20 minutes, well shy of the 6 hours the manual says it should have.
After that the display goes blank and it starts beeping.
But after I left it to trickle charge overnight it was going strong for about 3 hours.
Apparently the charger does a quick charge first and then shifts to trickle.
The small LCD display on the charger is messed up so it’s hard to see at a glance where you stand, but if you leave it charging overnight apparently you are good to go.
So if you only need to check the viscosity of a liquid and then on to other things it should be able to function in that capacity as is, the procedure seems pretty quick if I am interpreting the directions correctly.
The battery should be easy enough to replace if necessary although it isn’t cheap (Duracell DR-17 is what’s in it now).
Not sure that DJ Scientific is still around, and the one thing that I think you will need for it is some calibration fluid, not sure if that is a proprietary substance or just a liquid of a known viscosity.
Toggling through the menus when I bring up the sensor it says it needs cleaning, I will leave that to you.
Untested other than as pictured and described, sold as is, and NO warranty is offered.
However, IF you pay the asking price and find it has a problem you cannot live with within 14 days of receipt you may return it.
