Upon delivery of your LivePhyto please immediately shake and place for storage in your refrigerator. This will ensure the culture stays fresh and healthy. By placing your container in the refrigerator this slows down the organisms metabolism and places them in a stasis allowing for stable shelf life. It is normal to see your LivePhyto separate if left sitting, so we recommend shaking your container once per day or a couple times a week at a minimum as we do not use any additives or binders to keep the LivePhyto in suspension..
What
LivePhyto is a living concentrated solution of solely aquacultured nannochloropsis which is a very important species of phytoplankton. Because of its ability to accumulate high levels of polyunsaturated fatty acids, it has  high protein content and lipid composition which makes it a natural superfood for your reef aquarium. It is the beginning of the marine macrofauna food chain and is consumed by zooplankton, which then are consumed by larger invertebrates and crustaceans such as copepods, amphipods, rotifers and all sorts of other yummy goodies. These small crustaceans are then eaten by fish, inverts, corals, clams and other marine creatures utilizing the energy-rich food that has started with LivePhyto. For clownfish breeding LivePhyto is ideal to grow your rotifer culture as well as tint the fry tank to keep stress low and results high. LivePhyto is also a perfect food for brine shrimp grow out cultures to keep your maturing bring shrimp happy and healthy.

Use
Recommended reef tank feeding: Daily feeding recommends 2ml per 10 gallons of overall system volume. Weekly dosing recommends 5ml per 10 gallons of overall system volume once to twice a week. It is okay to increase the amount of feeding as desired up to double the feed recommendations with continued monitoring of nitrate (NO3) and phosphate (PO4) levels. Do not excessively overdose. Recommend target area feeding or adding in a high flow area of tank or sump. Recommended turning off protein skimmer and removal of carbon media for 1-2 hours after feeding.
